Other Inflatable inspection
The PIPA Scheme currently does not cover inflatables that are outside of the scope of BSEN 14960.
However, the Health and Safety Executive has tasked PIPA to write guidance and expand the scope of PIPA to include all inflatable. PIPA will soon be adding Non Ride On games to its scope. These include Football Shoot, Batak, Blow Football, Shooting games, Basketball. In fact any inflatable that is not got 'into' or 'on to' by the participant.
All inflatables require an annual Inspection Report to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Some items that would fall outside of PIPA are:
- Gladiator Joust
- Pillow Bash
- Hungry Hippos
- Sweeper (HSE request that mechanical items are now inspected with the inflatable bed)
- Multi Rides (HSE request that mechanical items are now inspected with the inflatable bed)
- Bungee Runs (will be added to EN 14960 at next review)
- Inflatable Buildings
- Pool Inflatables
This is not an exhaustive list
We are able to issue our own Inspection Reports (view a sample here) for all of the above and other equipment and we use all relevant parts of BSEN 14960 (all parts), manufacturers/designers information, available data/history and experience when carrying out these inspections
